Stars for Scholars at Andy Alligator's
Andy Alligators is proud to announce during the entire month of August the park will be accepting donations for Stars for Scholars, a nationwide fundraiser benefiting Children of Fallen Patriots Foundation (Fallen Patriots). When you visit our Fun Park or Waterpark during the August, you can donate to support college scholarships for military children who have lost a parent while serving our country. As a recognition for your contribution, you receive a gold star to write your name on. Our goal is to cover our walls in gold stars!
Fallen Patriots’ mission is to provide college scholarships and educational counseling to military children who have lost a parent in the line of duty. Approximately 20,000 children have lost an active duty parent in the military over the last 35 years.
Stars for Scholars is inspired by Putt for the Fallen, a 3-year fundraising event raising over $50,000 from Family Entertainment Centers throughout the country. This year, Putt for the Fallen changed to Stars for Scholars to allow for more businesses and organizations to get involved in this incredible organization instead of being limited to facilities with mini golf courses.
When you donate to Stars for Scholars during your next visit to Andy Alligators you are helping people like Boston Gilbert, the son of U.S. Air Force Major Troy Gilbert. “Fallen Patriots has impacted me by giving me the opportunity to attend a great university, but more importantly, they have provided me with encouragement and support to go and pursue these goals. I am forever grateful for Fallen Patriot’s support of me, my family and other families and students like me,” says Gilbert. Stars for Scholars understands the importance of scholarship and wants to give the gift of education to these children in need.
Andy Alligator’s is very excited for this fundraiser and can’t wait to start hanging up the gold stars of all of Norman Oklahoma’s charitable citizens.
